The Behavioral Health Commission takes the lead for DelARF and its members in addressing behavioral health issues. This includes the areas of mental health, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and gambling addictions. The BeHC has four primary goals:
- Evaluate current behavioral health public policy and promote change where needed.
- Work with the Department of Health and Social Services and the Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health.
- Inform members about State Budget issues impacting behavioral health and help them advocate for the allocation of resources for behavioral health services.
- Sponsor events enabling members, legislators and government managers to educate each other on behavioral health issues and to work together in solving behavioral health problems.
